Throughout the month of June, Peñíscola not only offers a full array of cultural, beach and leisure opportunities, but also a tempting culinary event based around cuisine prepared with fresh, seasonal local produce.

The Jornadas Gastronómicas del Mar y de la Huerta (sea and farm produce) festival held its 2nd edition in 2019, thanks to its warm welcome the first year. Menus include the best of Peñíscola's waters and farmlands, featuring well-known and prized species such as octopus, pink cuttlefish (de la punxa), shrimp, squid, red mullet, and monkfish. From the farmlands come classic, seasonal fruit and vegetables, all prepared in gourmet meals.
