The gastronomy of Peñíscola has played a key part in promoting the destination. Local, fresh and seasonal produce has travelled all over Spain to advertise a small part of Peñíscola's culture. The city's strong maritime tradition is also reflected in its cuisine. Peñíscola's cuisine has travelled, through the hands and recipes of local chefs, to cities such as Madrid, Valencia, Zaragoza, Seville, Barcelona, Bilbao and Vitoria, as well as to the Fiestas of the Magdalena in Castellón.

With events such as Showcooking or sampling sessions, attendees can savour dishes inspired by the productions filmed in and around Peñíscola, or as we call them, 'Film-set dishes'.

Shrimp, squilla, cuttlefish, monkfish and artichoke are just some of the sea and farm produce from Peñíscola with a unique quality, flavour and texture, deserving of national renown.
